LAUNCHXL-CC2650: LAUNCHXL-CC2650

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC2650
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Hi,

My group is working to try and match the scanned BLE items in your Starter IOS app by scanning for BLE with your LAUNCHXL-CC2650 development board and we are not able to match up the two scans.

If that cannot work, is there a product that we can use to replicate the results in your BLE app for IOS?

Thanks,

  • Hi Matt,

Could you specify the differences observed between the devices found by the IOS app versus the LAUNCHXL-CC2650?

Do you think this could be due to some sort of filtering done by one or the other devices? Could it be a difference in the sensibility of the radios?

    Regards,

  • E.g. the CC2650 isn't showing any IOS devices and the IOS application is showing IOS devices.  I am not sure why, considering the device is right next to the receiving phone and the device.  Have you seen this issue before?  We are seeing a Jabra headset that uses Bluetooth.  Have you heard of this issue in the past?

  • Hi Matt,

Are you sure the IOS devices are Bluetooth Low Energy devices? I mean, the CC26xx devices are Bluetooth LE only devices. They won't be able to detect the Bluetooth Classic devices. There are some Bluetooth LE scanner apps that can be run on a smartphone it may be worth to check if this is the root cause of your issue.

A different option to explore is the scanning filtering you are using on the CC26xx device. For example, you may only scan for connectable devices, in that case many devices may not be shown. Several other filtering options exist. Make sure you enable only the ones you need.

    I hope this will help,

    Regards,
