CC2650MODA: SmartRF FLASH programmer unable to halt target cpu

Hi,

I'm trying to program the CC2650MODA BoosterPack with the SmartRF FLASH programmer. It is able to connect (Sensor Controller Studio also works) but when I try to flash I get an error message that it is unable to halt target cpu.

I'm using the Debugger Devpack rev 1.3.0 plugged onto the BoosterPack:

Hi Jan, I found that if I unchecked the "use 2 wire cJTAG" option in SmartRF FLASH Programmer, the problem was resolved. But I've found that EnergyTrace doesn't work with the CC2650MOD Booster Pack.

Regarding EnergyTrace, the SensorTag Devpack does not feature this - you would need a standalone XDS110 (TMDSEMU110-U) or one of the newer launchpads such as the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1. Sorry.

Jim,

Unfortunately the CC2650 Launchpad does not have the circuit to support EnergyTrace - this technology came after the board was released.

In any case, the Launchpads I mentioned are the most cost effective for this.

One correction: the standalone XDS110 needs also the EnergyTrace HDR (TMDSEMU110-ETH) accessory to allow the wider dynamic range used by the Simplelink devices. It has an edge over the built-in EnergyTrace of the Launchpad as it had a higher maximum range (800mA) and a bit more flexible hardware interconnections to debug your final hardware.

Thanks! I will order a LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1. Just to confirm: does the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 work with custom boards using either the CC2650MODA or the CC2640R2LRHBR?
