LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: Persistent App Size

Hello,

I am using CC26x2R1 and I write my program on simple_peripheral_oad_onchip. I will write some my basic fuctions to persistent app in case of oad fails. Can I increase size of persistent app and also can I upgrade persistent app via OAD?

Hi,

As long as all the applications fit in the device Flash you can safely increase their sizes.

It seems to a bit dangerous to do this, isn't it?
We do not provide support to this specific use case but it should be possible.
This would require some modifications in the BIM and probably in the way the OAD images are built.

With that said, have you considered instead using offchip OAD. That way you would have more space to store images.

all hardware is prepared already so it is not possible to do offchip. Could you explain little bit more about how can I change the size of it? I changed NVS sizes but it still same in memory allocation window.

Hi,

The size of the image is stated in the map file. Adding or removing code will change the size of the image. (If you run a test, make sure the code optimizer does not remove the code you have added...).

A second option to easily modify the code size is to modify the parameters of the code optimizer.
