Hi,

i'm currently using the cc2640r2 launchpad but i will change to the cc26x2r1 in the next couple of weeks. I'm trying to implement a solution only requiring 2 launchpads and the antenna array, for a Aoa and ToF solution (at the same time). While first searching in the forum, i found this thread:

Supposedly in some new SDK version it should be possible. I looked in the Simple Link Academy (Version 3.3) and still saw the requirement for 3 launchpads (Master+Slave+Passive). Is it already available or will it be available sometime?

Why would it not work on the CC2640R2?

    Hi,

    I confirm you can use AOA without the passive device if you are using SDK 3.30 on CC26x2.This is a possibility and you will still be able to use the three devices if you want. The passive is still required on CC2640R2.

    The Simple Link Academy for RTLS / AOA / TOF for SDK 3.30 has not been released yet. Please accept our apologies.

    To finish, don't forget to update your CCS version to 9.2 if you are using SDK 3.30.

    Just for my own understanding, is there some technical impediment on the CC2640R2? Or is it just because the newer software will only be compatible with the CC26x2R1?

    Hi,

    The required code to perform AOA without passive has only been implemented on CC26x2.

    Just to avoid any misunderstanding, the SDK 3.30 has already been released and is available for download.
