CC8530: Interference between left and right channel

Part Number: CC8530
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3101,

Hello,
so far I have used CC8530 + TLV320AIC3101 only in mono mode. Now have a new project and programming CC8530 in stereo mode but I notice penetration between the L and R channels. What I mean, from the 3.5mm audio jack on a mobile phone I use only one channel (for example Left and phone VOLUME is 50%), in the headphone output (32 Ohm impedance) I hear a strong signal in the Left channel, but also a weak signal in the right channel.

Whether this can be avoided or reduced and at what settings ?  I did a lot of tests with PPWC (different levels of input volume, output volume on Master and Slave) but without success .

  • Vladimir,

Are you using a PPW EVM, or custom hardware? Have you tried running the software on a PPW EVM?

In order to debug, it may be useful to use teh PPW Commander "Command and Monitoring" tool. This will let you see network information and audio statistics. For example, ps_audio_stats() will show you the number of channels and the max and mean volume on each channel. This can help us determine if the PPW devices are sending/ receiving data on these channels, or if there is something else wrong in the system.

Additionally, have you tested your system with other input and output devices to make sure it's not the phone or headphones introducing the cross-channel noise?

    Regards,

    Daniel
