TRF7970A: target mode - card emulation

Part Number: TRF7970A

Hello team,

I have tried a lot, read a lot.. but I didn't get card emulation with TRF7970a running.

I use a DLP booster pack on a custom board and ported the TI NFC stack.

Reading a iso15693 tag works so I think my communcation with TRF seems to be ok.

But in target mode only strange things happen.
If I try to read my emulated tag via smartphone I get rx complete interrupts from TRF.
The received data looks like garbage and "TRF79x0_targetInitialize" fails.

I see fifo contents like "06 00 ff ff 01 00" and "00 00 00" which the stack can not handle.

Is there a way to check what is done during first negotitation between smartphone and TRF?
For me it looks like a misinterpreting.

cheers
Mathias

  • Hi Matthias,

at first one question, which tag type do you want to emulate?

Regarding the smartphone I don't know which sequence is send to detect which tag type is in the field. I would recommend to use your DLP booster pack with the EXP430F5529LP Launchpad together with our NFC demo software. You could then trace the SPI communication with a logic analyzer to get a reference for your development.
