RF430FRL153H: I need this module to work at 1.5V

Part Number: RF430FRL153H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RF430FRL152H, RF430FRL152HEVM

Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking your assistance on this query:

The component RF430FRL153H have a minimum voltage to 1.45V, but in actual tests t doesn't work with 1.53V supply voltage. I need this module to work at 1.5V.

We are using this module with FW that we installed, it will have to do with this topic? We already have the evaluation kit and we have the same problem.

How to solve it? Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

I'm glad to read that you are interested in RF430FRL153H development. This device should operate safely with 1.53V supply voltage. The RF430FRL152HEVM is generating 1.5V supply voltage for the RF430FRL152H device. You just have to make sure that VDDSW is supplied as well (also on your RF430FRL153H module). On the RF430FRL152HEVM therefore jumper "SV7" needs to be closed. Also make sure the switch SW6 is in "Supply" position for debug access and in "Battery" position for passive operation via NFC.

If you were able to download firmware then this is actually an indication that the RF430FRL152H device itself is operating normal with the given supply voltage.

Maybe your firmware is configuring the IO pins in a way that the load current is too high or shorted, which causes the supply voltage to drop.

    Please check.

    Best regards,

    Andreas.
