frequency offset on CC1110 HW design

Hi all,

I've been developing hardware based on the CC1110 reference design.  However, when I check the radio output signal on a spectrum analyser, the frequency is offset from the value set in the register, by about 150kHz.  This offset is systematic (does not very with frequency).  I've compared it with a CC1110 eval module on a SRF04 board, and found no offset occurs  - the demo board setup transmits at exactly the programmed frequency (I'm transmitting at 434 MHz).

Can anyone think of an obvious reason why this offset might occur?

  • I believe there are only two options. Either one or more of the register values is different or your crystal frequency is different. Using RF Studio check all of the related registers on te CC1110EM and compare them to your hardware set up. Also check the crystal frequency.
