Thank you Ryan, I'll wait your expert's answer. I'm using Linux Ubunto OS, and I think there is no command line usage for this OS. Although, I already did exporting data to a CSV file,my problem is more related to "what this data means" than "How to get this data". Have a nice day!

Is WireShark being used due to a limitation in the EnergyTrace display in Code Composer Studio? Maybe it is being captured this way for automation?

 it's for automation of microcontroler's (cc13xx) current measurement in a python or C++ snippet. Not about ccs limitation. However, if there is any way to get energyTrace from command line on linux ubunto it would solve my problem too. Thanks

Ok that makes sense.  On Windows we have sTune.  I will see if there is another option on Linux or if we have info on how to decode the packet.

Ok it is a little more complicated than I hoped.  One possible solution is  Debug Server Scripting (DSS) which is the automation interface for CCS.  This is not something that is part of the published API but it should be possible. 

How soon do you need this?  It would be a couple of weeks before the person who can figure out how to do this is available.

It is worth giving DSS a try to get familiar with it.  We will need to get you the information on how to use it for this specific use case with EnergyTrace.  That part will take a couple of weeks.  I will leave this thread open so that we can track that activity.

 Would I get access to sTune's source code? So I can try to decode this info by my self and do it on Linux. I realized that use windows will not be an option for me. Thanks

We won't be able to provide the source to sTune but I am hoping that when our expert can look at this in a couple weeks that they can provide an example of how to do this from either DSS or something else called dslite that is cross platform.

I met with our expert this morning to look at our options.  The best way forward looks to be to get sTune running on Linux.  DSS would work but it would involve calling some internal debugger APIs and still walking you through how to decode all of the data...  Also it is possible that those internal APIs could change as they are not public and then you would be in a situation where your automation stops working.

We took a quick look at how sTune is built and it will be some work to get it building and validated on Linux.  However that still looks to be the best way forward.  It will take a bit of time to get this in place but I will keep you posted.

We have a version of sTune on Linux for you to try out.  We tested gave EnergyTrace a quick try this morning at we were able to get data.

I am going to send you a friend request so that I can share a link with you privately that has an installer.  It will get rolled into CCS but likely not until CCSv12.2.0 so I want to get this to you now.  For our testing we installed into an existing CCSv12 installation.

Hello John, I've been trying to use the "emupack" you sent to me. Would you help me sending the script you'd used to validate this feature(the energy trace data from linux terminal)? or maybe give us access to you GTI API ( not sure if you can share this API with me).

sTune is a command-line utility. I manually ran it from the command line on my Ubuntu 20.04 LTS machine and was able to get ET data.
