Question regarding CC2591 RF interfacing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2591

Hello,

I am interested in interfacing the CC2591 RF_N / RF_P pins to the similar related pins on the AT86RF231 ZigBEE module. From what I can see in the CC2591 datasheet, which described interfacing to the TI's CC24xx chips or the CC25xx chips (CPU modules ?), the RF_N / RF_P pins on the CC2591 are directly connected to the RF_N / RF_P pins on the CC24xx or CC25xx chips. Is this correct to assume that the same goes for the AT86RF231 chip ? What factors do we need to consider to figure something like this out , I mean which part of the datasheet tells us for sure on this interfacing requirement , either on the CC2591 or on the AT86RF231 or otherwise ?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

why would you want to do such a thing. There are excellent ZigBee modules already on the market including CC2591.

Using a ZigBee module and adding CC2591, you loose all the module advantage (FCC certified, Stable PA design, well tested, time to market etc)

Take a look at the RC24xx series from Radiocrafts. (www.radiocrafts.com) The -HP variant include CC2591.
