Packet sniffer problems on CC2511DK

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIMPLICITI, CC2511, CC2510

I just received 2xCC2510DK-MINI and 1xCC2511EMK. I have used SmartRF Studio before but this is the first time I have tried to use the CC2511EMK with the packet sniffer software.

If I connect up a pair of CC2510DK boards and using SmartRF Studio (v1.4.9) I can get the boards transmitting and receiving SimpliciTI packets no problems. I then exported a PRS file to load into the packet sniffing software. I programmed the CC2511EMK with the file in the packet sniffer distribution (SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware\sniffer_fw_ccxx11.hex) using the CC Debugger and the TI SmartRF Flash Programmer.

The problem is the packet sniffer software (v2.14.0) doesn't receive any packets despite the second CC2510DK confirming packets are being transmitted over the air. I am using Easy mode in SmartRF Studio - SimpliciTi Ping packet, High data rate. In the packet sniffer I am using generic protocol profile and importing the generated PRS file.

The packet sniffer does seem to occasionally pick up some random garbage packet but it bears no relation to what I am transmitting. Still I think it proves the interface to the CC2511EMK is working. I have attached a screen shot of this.

Does anyone have any ideas of where I am going wrong? I can only think the CC2511EMK is faulty, but this just seems so unlikely.

Cheers,
Ian.
