Hello,

I've looking for a reference design of a balun circuit for the SoC CC430 at 433 MHz. I've also tried to look for CC1101 designs since the SoC uses basically that transceiver. Does anyone have one? It would be easier to have the physical measurements of the tracks (length and width) rather than the gerber files since I cannot open them and copy.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

The CC430 reference design guide http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/slaa462 explaines how to modify the reference design to work at 433 MHz. Hopes this helps.

Thank you for your answer, I had seen that document and it was helpful. However, I need to know also the physical dimensions of the traces: width and length for the balun at 433 MHz. It is said in the document "Shorter or longer trace lengths may degrade the performance, because they will influence the impedance of the traces in the balun." but it doesn't provide the correct ones. Being of great importance for the RF stage is strange that they are not specified there. Where could I find those?

We recommend copying the reference design as best possible to get the best performance, the length of the traces can be calculated for instant by opening the gerbers using ViewMate (freeware).

Hi Carlos,

download the free version of ViewMate from Pentalogix. You need to register first. With ViewMate, you can easily open the Gerbers and use the 'distance' tool to accurately measure trace widths and lengths.
