Installing missing drivers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2533

Hello everybody!

I am working on CC2533 RF4CE Basic.

I wanted to install SmartRF Flash Programmer and I had some warnings during its installation. (I didn't meet difficulties with SmartRF Studio)

It said it wasn't able to install drivers on some places and moreover it said it wasn't able to delete some directories. But after finishing the installation, I could open SmartRF Flash Programmer (the window).

Therefore, when I connect CC Debugger to the PC by the USB Cable, the status LED fashes red and PC said there aren't recognized drivers for CC Debugger.

Then, I uninstalled and installed several times and this failure still persisted (it means drivers couldn't be installed).

How installing the missing drivers??

Regards,

Flo.

  • Hi Floriane,

    do you see the cebal drivers being copied in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Drivers\cebal\Win 32bit x86 (cebal2.inf and cebal.sys)?

The *.inf is the information driver file Windows uses to load the real driver, cebal2.sys.

I suggest you to uninstall SmartRF flash programmer and re-install it (www.ti.com/lit/zip/swrc044), if installation is successful you do not have to manually instruct windows to look up for those files when you plug the CC debugger.

Once drivers are installed successfully and the device recognized by Windows, it shall pop up as Cebal Controlled device in the Device Manager.

    Thanks,

  • Hi TheDarkSide,

I noticed I have installed the wrong version of the software SmartRF Studio (I followed exactly what is said in the provided documents, even the adress of the downloading of the software).

Then, I uninstalled the wrong version and installed the right version (the most recent, SmartRF Studio 7). Drivers were sucessful installed. Consequently, SmartRF Flash Programmer hasn't a problem anymore with missing drivers.

    Regards.

    Flo.
