SmartRF 7 Register Export

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIMPLICITI, CC2500

Hello!

I wanted to know is it possible to change default register list in SmartRF Studio 7 when I choose Register Export (template I use is "SimpliciTI settings")?

There are 21 default regsiter for CC2500, but every time I change some setings I have to add 10 more registers. I serched forum, but I couldn't find if there is such a possibility.

Thanks..

  • Hi Gundars,

Yes, it is possible to change the default registers.

    1. Selecte the "Simpliciti" template.

    2. Click on the "Select Registers" button (upper left corner).

    3. Select the registers you want in the left column and add those to the right column. Click OK to close dialog.

    4. Click on the "Save" button to save the changes. ( I guess this is what you missed in your previous attempts.)

We are planning to do some modifications to the "Register export" dialog. It is not perfect and we want to make it more intuitive.

    Hopefully this will help you.

    Regards,

    Øyvind

  • Hi, again,

Thank you for your help. I tried what you suggested, but I couldn't save the changes... I select the registers I need, closed and saved the template, bet when I click again on the "Simpliciti" template the registers I added aren't showing in the right column. Even adding some coments in Header aren't saved.

  • I forgot to ask you about which operating system you are running on?

With Windows 7 we have a known issue with saving files under the "Program Files" folder. You will only be allowed to save files here if you start the application as administrator. SmartRF Studio let this pass silently without saying anything. That means you will not be able to save your changes.

For the future we have 2 things to fix. First of all to give a warning when file access fail and secondly prevent this from happening by changing the location where this information is stored.

Hopefully you are able to get around this by starting as administrator. I don't have Windows 7 myself, but I think it is possible to right click on the startup icon and select something like "start as administrator".

    Regards,

    Øyvind

  • Yes, I'm running on Windows 7.

Thank you, running as administrator solved my problem.
