Wireless Connectivity with CC2420DK

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2420

hi,

I have a question concerning the CCxxxxx family. I am now doing the project with standard IEEE 802.15.4. I am testing the connection between two CC2420 chips.

Let me explain my condition first. I got two CC2420EM chips.

One CC2420 on CC2420EM and it will be mounted on MCU atmega 128.

Another CC2420 on CC2420EM and it will be mounted on CC2420DK and this will be connected to PC via USB.

I want to connect these two via wireless with antennas.

I want to know that Is it possible to transmit/receive between these two conditions ? because I have found some examples of connection between two CC2420 DK.

but I ve never seen the communication wirelessly between CC2420DK and MCU. I need ur help and opinions.

thanks,

MS

  • Probably the easiest and fastest way for you to trouble shoot your problem is to first eliminate the hardward and its layout.  Secondly connect to SmartRF card and make sure registers are correctly programmed.

By connect your CC2420 radio to the SmartRF04 card through clock,  data and enable you can program the chip to take measurements and determine what is wrong.  By using the SmartRF card you eliminate programming errors and set up errors of the radio.   By using the SmartRF you eliminated the software and can focus upon any hardware layout issues.
