Hi All,
I have been looking at CC2530 dev kit for evaluating the capability of the ZigBee technology offered by TI. I have a few questions regarding the software development tools and hardware.
1 - Apparently, I need to buy IAR's Embedded Workbench for 8051 to be able to do any development and debugging on the CC2530. I currently have IAR Embedded Workbench full development environment for ARM. However, my understanding is that the IAR version I have got is no good for CC2530 and therefore, I will need to get my wallet out again to buy the 8051 version of the embedded workbench. Am I correct?
2 - The IAR environment supports JTAG debugging of CC2530, which is great. Apparently, the required hardware is manufactured by Chipcon as indicated on the following link : http://www.iar.com/en/Products/IAR-Embedded-Workbench/8051/Supported-devices/Texas-Instruments/ . I have searched for the Chipcon JTAG adapters but could not find it anywhere. Can someone please point me in the right direction for the correct JTAG adapter to be able to debug CC2530 please?
3 - There is a CC2531USB stick that comes with the CC2530 development kit. Can I use this USB stick as a JTAG adapter rather than buying an additional one from Chipcon, as I mentioned in question 2?
4 - Does anybody have any information on the lead times for the CC2530 development kit in the United Kingdom?
Any feedback to the above will be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Cryptoman
