Simple Smart RF test by using 2 chronos eZ430

Hi,

I connected a chronos eZ430 watch with a Win7 machine by using the usb dongle and another one with a Win XP machine. Both watches are running the original 1.5 firmware for the 868 MHz watch.

Both watches are maybe 2m apart, however if I let them communicate by using SmartRF 7 then the communcation is sometimes fine with a RSSI -60 dBm and  0% errors, even if lower the TX power but sometimes I get even -80 dBm or worse and like 50% errors although I dont move the watches at all and run the RF Module at max power.

Another Problem is that they seem to fall into LPM4 randomly while being on the usb dongle and accessed by SmartRF then the display isnt turned on again even if I use a battery unless i start a wireless update with an AP and running on battery.

SmartRF can still recognize the watches and access the RF modules even if the MCU is in LPM4, however the RSSI is like -110 dBm then and no packets are being received. Therefore I think that the MCU are in LPM4 then, especially because they dont wake up if I just insert a battery.

The watches are working fine if they are in battery mode and communicating with a AP while running the acc/sync/etc functions.

Thanks for any help.
