[CC2533] Problem with connection using CC debugger.

When I connect CC debugger to my target board, the status LED has been red.

So I can't program on the SmartRF FLASH programmer.

I think there are some problems on the debugging interface connections.

Would you please examine my schematic and gerber attached?

    your debug connection from a schematic point of view looks correct. 

    Let’s verify few steps for the sake of clarity:

    • When you connect the gray ribbon cable to the device (please make sure the red wire is connected to pin 1 of the remote), does the CC debugger led come green? If it does not, please press reset button on the debugger.
    • If after pressing the reset button still it is not green, this means that the debugger does not recognize the chip ID of the remote. You might be then using an old firmware version of the debugger which in some early kits manufactured is not aligned with new chip IDs integrated in our HW. Please verify that this checking with standard HW shipped in the kit. If LED is red also for the HW shipped in the kit, then for sure it is the firmware on the debugger which has not been updated. I apologize for this in advance if that's the case and do the following: please visit ti.com/smartRFstudio and download the tool. When you launch it it shall see an unknown chip and tell you that the firmware of the debugger must be updated.  
    • Flash the new CC firmware image, press reset and the light should come green and the device you want to flash should be enumerated.

    In case of CC Debug connection test with CC2533 RF4CE Basic Development kit, there are no problem.

    the problem is connection with Target board and CC Debug.

    i can not find any wrong point in schematic and PCB gerber file.

    could please recommend another check point ?

  • Hi Ko Rak Gon,

    Have you remembered to power your board? Pin 2 of the debug interface does _not_ supply power from the debugger to the board.

    Your schematic and layout looks correct, however I can not view the drill file. Have you remembered to connect the EGP of the chip to ground through vias?
