My customer is asking Spurious emissions on CC2652P7 datasheet.

According to spurious emissions(datasheet page 18), note(1) is described below.

(1) To ensure margins for passing FCC band edge requirements at 2483.5 MHz, a lower than maximum output-power setting or less than

100% duty cycle may be used when operating at 2480 MHz.

About " less than 100% duty cycle", what does this duty cycle mean?

Hi Tao_2199,

Less than 100% duty cycle means that the BLE advertising is on only 1%, 2%, 3%, etc out of predetermined time interval. A common scenario we use is is 50ms time interval and 144us advertising which equates to 2.88% duty cycle.

In case of Zigbee and Thread protocol(not BLE), how should we interpret the duty cycle on the datasheet?
Also, according to FCC guidance(558074 D01 DTS Meas Guidance.), the duty cycle is described on page 5(6. DUTY CYCLE, TRANSMISSION DURATION AND MAXIMUM POWER CONTROL LEVEL).

1. Zigbee and Thread have almost the same requires as BLE for FCC testing so duty cycle should be interpreted the same way. Which parts of the datasheet are you referring to?

2. section 6 refers to certification requirements for testing transmission which must be at least 98% duty cycle (continuous) as it is the worse case scenario for transmission.
