LP-EM-CC2340R5: CC2340R5

Part Number: LP-EM-CC2340R5
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP-XDS110ET,

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have a LP-EM-CC2340R5 (via a LP-XDS110ET) in the proprietary MSK mode 250kbps using Smart RF Studio 8 (v1.1.0 #49) and have FM demodulated via a vector signal analyzer. The waveform is unexpected, with a deviation of  approximately 500kHz ( pk-pk/2 ) and does not correspond to my expected definition for MSK: MSK or Minimum BFSK: a 2-FSK with modulation index h=0.5.

Can anyone explain the proprietary MSK 250kbps mode modulation in more detail please.

Thanks
Phil

  • Hi Phil,

We create MSK differently by adjusting the deviation and data rate to achieve the 0.5 index ratio. The adjustment happens by phase shifting the oscillator during a bit down-ramp transition when the power is 0.

    Best regards,

    Bun
