CC2530: Compatibility of SmartRFProgConsole with VS2022, Win11 x64, and Core Isolation

Part Number: CC2530

Tool/software:

Hello TI Experts,

We are evaluating the Texas Instruments SmartRF Flash Programmer Console (SmartRFProgConsole.exe) as part of an in-house automation project (DLL wrapper for production flashing). Before finalizing, we would like to confirm its compatibility and runtime requirements with our target environment.

Development Environment:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, toolset v143
  • Windows 10.0 SDK
  • ISO C++17
  • x64 build (we deploy only 64-bit stations)

Runtime / OS Environment:

  1. Are there any specific runtime dependencies (e.g., WinUSB, VC++ redistributables) required for SmartRFProgConsole to run reliably in production?
  2. Is it supported on Windows 11 builds with Core Isolation ON?
  3. Are there any known issues or limitations when running SmartRFProgConsole in the above environment?

Our use case involves automating flashing of CC2530F256 and CC2430F128 devices, capturing console return codes (PASS/FAIL) within a custom DLL, and integrating this into our manufacturing line.

Any guidance, documentation, or confirmation of support would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ashok .K

  • Hello Ashok,

The last release of the original TI Smart RF Programmer Tool was in 2016 and has not been updated to directly support any newer dependencies.  Although there have not been any issues raised with general Smart RF Programmer usage with Windows 11, you will need to run and test each of your environment dependencies to confirm that no unexpected behavior occurs.  Please be sure to read the Software License Agreement before redistributing.  You can also consider using a third-party programming software solution if it better suits your production requirements.

    Regards,
    Ryan
