Flashing CC1111 & CC1110

Hi Experts,

I have just started working on CC1110 and CC1111 uC. So, this question may be a dumb quesiton.

I was able to flash CC1110 and CC1111 by connecting them to Smart RF Evaluation Board (EB). I have used SmartRF Flash Programmer and IAR tools to flash these units.

So, my question is can I flash the units wihtout using the Smart RF EB? I think writing to Debug channel (DD, DC) is the only way to flash CC1110. Please correct me if I am wrong. Is there any way to flash using the USB available in CC1111. If so is there any bootloader for it.

The CC-Debugger (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/cc-debugger.html) that can be a replacement for flash programming instead of using the SmartRF®04 which serves as the cross download / debugger hardware interface when using the evaluation boards.

Someone else would have to comment on your question about doing it via USB for the CC1111.

Hi,

so far I know there is no out-of-the-box solution fo flashing via USB. This has to be done by yourself. But there is a example for in-system flashing and a CDC/USB driver available from TI and I can offer some hints for a bootloader core available at https://community.ti.com/forums/p/4780/19245.aspx#19245.

But still a lot of (but interesting) work to do...

Somehow I missed the CC-Debugger. It's a great option.

Ya writing an USB bootloader is an interesting challenge. Will try to write if time permits.

Note that the "processor / USB interface" in the cc-Debugger is the CC2511 which is software compatible with the CC1111.... The details and full schematics are in the cc-Debugger user guide.

Is it actual task yet? I'm going to complete the project based on CC1111 to flash this device via USB. My solution is to place into ROM loader code which will start and flash work code. There were some problem related to interrupt vectors table located in 0x000-0x00FF area etc. The next task will flash CC11110 via RF.
