SMARTRF04EB USB ISSUE

Hello,

I recently acquired a smartrf04eb kit, and my problem is simple : I cannot get it recognized by the computer.

When I power the board up, there is no problem, the LCD displays "Chipcon SRF04EB No EM detected!". But then, windows tries to recognize it via USB, fails at it, then tell me to choose where the drivers are (I tried 3 times, 3 different places) and still not recognized.

I have windows vista SP1.

Would there be any Vista known issue for USB connection ?

Do you have the Smart RF Studio software loaded on your machine?

http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/smartrftm-studio.html

Would be where you can download the latest and greatest. From there, drivers should be in c:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\Extras\Srf04Eb\

Yes of course that was the 1st step I tried. I then tried to install IAR workbench 7.51 as some forum replies suggested it, but it didnt work.

I noticed that I has windows vista x64 bits, is there a compatibility issue with this version ?

If there is so, what answer should fix my problem ? Linux live CD ?

I don't have access to a Vista x64 machine, so I can not try that for a fix, this is the vacation time of year so answers might be slow in coming, but I will dig deeper and see if I can find anything on that. BTW, what version of the board is it (It should be on a small sticker on the underside).

I will try to find a Windows XP laptop PC temporarily.
