CC2431 Development Board

The CC2531DK contains 2 x SmartRF05EB, 10 x SoC Battery Boards, 2 x CC2530EM, 10 x CC2531EM, cables, batteries and antennas. The antenna is Antenova Titanis (www.antenova.com).

If you are looking for 1 to 3 km range, you should consider using the CC2591 range extender (www.ti.com/cc2591). There are CC2430-CC2591EMs available that can be used for experimenting. But 3 km sounds a bit long... You might also need to consider a discrete PA solution. Take a look at "AN063: Using CC2591 RF Front End with CC2430" (www.ti.com/lit/swra212) and "DN018 -- Range Measurements in an Open Field Environment " (swra169) - They should give you some basic ideas of what range to expect given your link budget.

Please specify - there are no kits called CC2431 DBKit. Do you mean the CC2430DBK (CC2430 Demonstration Board Kit)? That one contains one CC2430 Demonstration Board. The part list for the board is included in the reference design: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/cc2430db_refdes.html
