CC2510 Ref Design Board Thickness Change

I am looking to design an RF board using the CC2510, but the PCB manufacturer I use only supplies 0.062" boards. The reference design is for 8mm (0.031") thick boards. I am well aware that the change in board thickness will affect the RF performance.

1) Are there any reference designs for the CC2510 with 16mm thick boards?

2) How detrimental would it be for RF performance to use the 31mil design with a 62mil board?

Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

the big difference is that the line widths for 50 ohm or other impedances get bigger and that makes it harder to get the match.

Given that the board thickness doubles from 31mil to 62mil, do the line widths simply double as well? Or is it a more complex relationship between impedance and line width versus the board thickness?

Yes. a 50 ohm trace at .031 is about .050. At .062.... .1" is about right. That having been said, this is only for 50 ohm traces as around the antenna. Component traces that are very short and point to point should be O.K.
