CC2511: power supply below 3V possible?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2511, CC2510

Dear Forum,

the datasheet notes that the power supply for the CC2511 is starting at 3.0V rather than 2.0 as for the CC2510. The only difference between these two chips is the USB feature. So I wonder if for the CC 251 the power supply can be reduced to minimal 2.0V when no USB functionality is used in this situation. I need this because my device is just optionally powered by USB and if not connected to USB just a battery is used which has normally a voltage below 3V.

Thanks for any answers.

  • Hi,

The operating range for CC2511 and CC1111 is reduced compared to CC2510 and CC1110 due to ADC performance and crystal oscillator. The USB devices runs at a 24 MHz, while the SoC at 26-27 MHz . It is therefore not recommended to run the CC2511 below 3V no.
