  • Hello Michelle,

thanks for reaching out in E2E.

Could you please let me know what do you mean by SMIC?

    Best regards,

    Andreas.

  • Hi Andreas,

SMIC stands for Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation.
Are any of the listed parts manufactured by SMIC?

    Thanks.

    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle,

TI is a semiconductor manufacturer itself.

I'm not aware that these devices are manufactured by SMIC.

    Best regards,

    Andreas.

  • Hi Andreas,

Please see reply from TI customer service.

Do you confirm they are not using SMIC?

Thank you for contacting Texas Instruments Customer Support Center.

TI is aware of the requirements in the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) related to semiconductor products from Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC).  Per the NDAA, these requirements will not be effective until December 2027 at the earliest, and implementing regulations are not required to be issued by the U.S. Government until late 2025.  TI is monitoring the development of these requirements and will have more information for our customers closer to the time when the regulations become effective.

If further help is needed or if you have any additional inquiries particular to this request, please reply to this email within the next 5 days and let me know before the case is closed by the system.

    Thanks.

    Michelle

  • Hello Michelle,

thanks a lot for your update.

E2E is a technical design support forum.

I think the Texas Instruments Customer Support Center is the better contact for your question. I would suggest to follow up in the Customer Support Center e-mail conversation for more details.

    Best regards,

    Andreas.
