  • I'm not sure if I understand the problem, is it a downside that the light is green? Does the debugger LED turn red if you press the reset botton and you don't have a chip attached?

  • thanks TER

It is not blinking red again after resetting. I think some problem with debugger because when i am connecting it to any PC whether it have drivers installed in it or not, it still blinks green. Plz help me out asap. plz suggest me if i am not wrong.

    Thanks biprangshu

  • Hi biprangshu,

Can you please be more specific in explaining your issue?

    1) Is the CC Debugger LED blinking? How fast is it blinking?
    2) Is the CC Debugger recognized when connected to a computer?

    Best regards,
    ABO

  • Hi Tiabo,

i am also facing same problem. LED is always blinking Green when i am connecting it to any PC(Whether required Drivers in PC or not).I already installed all required drivers for CC debugger. But in Device Manager CC debugger not recognized.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ter & ABO,

Actually the LED is glowing GREEN continuously, & there is no effect on pressing the reset button. Only when I press the reset button LED is off, releasing the button it starts glowing green again. I have installed the driver properly. But in the device manager it is showing nothing. So I can say the debugger is not recognized when inserted in the PC. Moreover the result is same after connecting it to any PC whether drivers are installed in the PC or not.

    Thanks

  • What CCxxxx do you have connected to the CC Debugger? The standard CC Debugger firmware will light the LED green if a CCxxxx chip is discovered, red if no chip is recognized.

You can try to to ressurect the CC Debugger, as explained in section 8.4 of the CC Debugger User's Guide (swru197).

  • Hi ABO

The debugger is to be connected to CC2531 USB dongle . But the problem is whatever the condition whether the drivers are installed or not in PC, whether the the dongle is connected to the debugger or not, whether the reset button pressed or not every time it is glowing green & it is not recognized by the PC even no pop up message is displayed in PC that the device is recognized or not recognized . The only change is in pressing the button when it is pressed LED turns off releasing the button again starts glowing green again.

  • This is truly strange. The GREEN LED should not be turned on unless the debugger recognizes a chip connected to it. Since it is green whatever the configuration, you might accidentally have programmed the wrong firmware image on the debugger or it is broken.

Has it always behaved like this? Did you try the resurrection procedure as ABO suggested? Is the LED really green or is it tending towards amber/orange?

  • Thanks To every body,

Just before some time I have made it working.

The problem was some how the firmware was corrupted. Thats why it was not even recognized by PC. I have entered in the boot recovery mode as described in swru197c.pdf section 8.3 & followed the manual upgradation of firmware as section 8.2. Its working fine now.
