cc2511fxx evluation board- design suggestion

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2520, LM1117

Dear frnds,

I have designed an evaluation board for the device cc2511Fxx. please any one see the layout and suggest me if anything i need to modify

Q1. is it necessary to use 50 ohm line to connect matching network to inverted F antenna( in cc2520 reference design(swrr054)  the line connecting matching nw and the inv F antenna is not 50 ohm imp line

Q2.  i am using lm1117 LDO is it ok

Q4. is any other suggestion or issues in the layout

thanks in advance

  • Hi Semmalai,

At a glance the layout looks ok. You have not attached the your own schematics, so it's hard to tell if everything is wired up correctly.

Q1: It might not be a issue due to the short length of the trace, but it certainly won't hurt. Why do you claim the line in CC2520 ref. des. to not be 50 ohm?

Q2: I look very briefly at the datasheet. The only issue I could think of is the minimum load current requirement.

Q4: Have you remembered ground vias in the center pad? There should also be plenty of ground vias connection the ground planes on each layer, especially near the top of the board. I would  not use thermal relief on the vias.

    Fredrik

  • Thanks fredrik.

//Why do you claim the line in CC2520 ref. des. to not be 50 ohm?

just i analysed the inverted F antena in the reference design . In  the reference design the width of line connecting SMA connector is 55mils (impedance on .8mm FR4 PCB  is 50 ohm) but in the line to inverted F antenna is 40 mils ...
