The data sheet shows "Not Allowed" for the case of having both EN and PAEN =1. What happens if that condition occurs? Smoke? Nothing? Nothing but high current draw?

Having both EN and PAEN set high would effectively cause the PA and LNA in the CC2590 to be on at the same time. Theoretically that wouldn't cause the system to blow up, but would cause more current draw and it is impossible to transmit and receive at the same time.
