Does a radio use less energy when it transmits at a higher baud rate?

We don't have a lot of data to send out, but faster might provide a better response. So does faster also use less energy given the same amount of data needed to transmit?

    For the same amount of data, at a higher data rate the required data is transmitted in lesser time than at a lower data rate. Therefore the ON time for the radio is lesser at higher data rate as compared to a lower data rate. Thus saving battery life at higher data rates for small amounts of data
