cc2591 matching : no balun,not 50ohm matching,and works!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2591I soldered directly the pad ANT ( cc2591) toGND and a 3cm wire soldered directly...and works!! .anyway i couldnt use any laout designed copied from TI reference, because we were building a RF pen ,with only 6mm diameter ,no place for PCB,only batteries) I have questions as we can not measure the return losses and the inherent problems it could cause later to the PA parts of cc2591,some strees, some malfunction etc (We used a 10kbit lowest to increase sensitivity) In a long term what could we face?
  • I would check stability and radiated harmonics.

  • If the matching is not followed then there will always be an amount of power that will radiated if a quarter wave wire length is just directly soldered to the output. If the matching network is far out then instability issues can occur and large harmonics can exceed regulatory limits.

Please send me your schematics and we can try to help to provide a more robust solution.
