example code for simple remote switch application less then 4k code size ?

Hello Dears,

I have a problem compiling the example code packet named SWRC133.
Due to my information, that is the code, which is preprogrammes on the CC1110DK-Mini-868.
This is the hardware, which is available for me.
Before compiling the code, following error appears (I have the 4k kickstart IAR Workbench Version 8.20.1):

Error[Og008]: Code size limit exceeded (4096 code bytes) for this version of the compiler.

The message is self-explanatory, of course, but I'm asking me, if it's possible to build up a very simple remote switch
based on the code example, which needs less then 4k code size ?

I'm not an expert in Microcontroller-Programming, so I just want to change the code a little bit, to build up my application.

Can anyone help me out, to find a code example ?
Or do I have to find out, what is an open-source alternative to the IAR Workbench ?
