CC112X and TCXO power enable

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1120

Hi,

I know one can use one of the GPIO's in order to enable a TCXO. However, if there is no enable pin feature on the TCXO, I was wondering if there is an other solution which does not involve a PMOS power gating scheme or similar.

The schematic in "Reference Design - CC1120_868/915 MHz IPC Ref Design 4 Layer (Rev. A)" seems to show such a feature. According to the schematic there can be two ways to power the TCXO. Either from the DCPL_XOSC pin (tapping power from this pin) through R321, or the normal way from VDD through R322. However, I am unable to find any literature describing the solution of tapping power from the DCPL_XOSC pin, and if this is OK. Will the power be off during sleep etc (which would be the whole point), maximum current drain, voltage level etc...

Best Regards

Hans Christian
