SmartRF Studio install problem: scripts

Hi,

When I try to install SmartRF Studio 7-1.10.3 onto a windows 7 64bit pc, it errors with the message "feature: scripts, error: catastrophic failure".

If I choose not to install scripts then it all works fine, but I want to use scripts.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks for reporting this. We have not seen this issue before.

To which location on the PC are you installing SmartRF Studio? Does the same happen if you select another location for installation?

Same problem for other install locations. Ive tried it with 'run as administrator' and without - no change.

Also, if I untick scripts it installs but also has an error message "Error 1325.myfirstname.mylastname is not a valid short file name". (my name contains plain ascii text only)

Hi,

We have not heard about this issue before, and do not have any good idea here unfortunately. I did a google search on this error and see on Microsoft's websites that Office installation might fail in the same way. Could you please check if these articles gives some help:

Hi Bjorn,

Disabling offline files fixed both issues, now it installs fully without any error messages.
