Hi,

I can create and build the default project for a CC2538 using CCS. When I attempt to debug the project I get the following error:

"Error connecting to the target:
(Error -233 @ 0x0)
The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.
(Emulation package 5.1.73.0)"

The SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 recognizes the device OK and I can debug using the IAR IDE without any problems.

Any ideas?

Hi,

An initial question. Is your CC2538 programmed with anything?

If you do a mass erase in SmartRF Flash Programmer 2, do you get the same error in CCS?

Hi,

The CC2538 is factory fresh, running the demo PER app.

I just tried mass erase and it works fine.

Ok,

What version of IAR are you using? Have you looked at the CC2538 IDE user's guide (SWRU345)?

Edit: The Board Support Package LCD example includes a CCS project.

Hi,

I've just re-read the CC2538 IDE user's guide.

My mistake was to create a project using the selection: "Empty Project (with main.c)". Even with the the device set to "CM2538SF53" this build OK but fails to load.

Following the guide and creating the project in Other Examples -> Blink LED CM2538SF53, builds and loads fine.

Would you please be more specific as to how you resolved this problem? I am experiencing the same issue, but I fail to see your solution.
