Altium Symbols and Footprints available for CC2530 and CC2538?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2538, CC2530

Hi,

Are there Altium Symbols and Footprints available for the CC2530 and CC2538?

Thanks,

Rob

  • Hi Rob,

Unfortunately we are not able to provide Altium symbols / footprints for our products.

Most of our newer reference designs for the CC25XX products have the Cadence Allegro design files included if you are using that.

In Altium you can easily create the needed footprints using the IPC footprint wizard and our data sheet in minutes. When creating your own footprints, also remember to include the exposed pad under the package which is used as chip ground.

For more info regarding QFN footprints you can e.g. have a look at this application note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sloa122/sloa122.pdf

    Regards,
    Svend

  • Rob,

    An update on this:

Most of our LPRF products will have footprints and symbols provided through a 3rd party tool called Ultra Librarian Reader. For CC2530 this already exists (http://www.ti.com/product/cc2530#cadsymfoot) and it has been ordered for the CC2538.

The Ultra Librarian Reader is free to use and will convert the provided .bxl files into symbols and footprints for any of the below tools:
