HI guys,
Does their exist such a solution that would track any tag going through a security gate, about 9 feet? I'm looking for a reader and passive tag. What I have read is that these solutions in general are good up to 10cm
THanks,
amy

Amy,
We have a Ref Design based on the CC430F5137, but in its present form, will only operate < 1m. Two options - end user could start with this design, add CC1190 or other RFAmp, test and debug on their own, or, if there is a business case, the Product Group could do the required enhancements. Contact me direct if this is the preferred course of action.
Alternatively, there is a commercial device available from Evigia that operates up to 100m, and uses the CC1101: http://www.evigia.com/featured-products/asset-transponder-for-equipment/ .

Amy,
if you are looking for a passive solution, the only battery-less I have seen was an LF HXD reader RI-STU-251B-30 connected to a 1 to 2 turns litz wire antenna 7 x 7 feet and the RI-TRP-R9TD-30 tag:http://www.ti.com/product/ri-trp-r9td

HI all,
We reviewed t kit. My customer is planning to get the EM430F5137RF900 development kit. We needed some guidance about the transponder. We are looking to a transponder that can be fit to a band ( like a watch band). So the size of the PCBA and antenna is more limited than the reader. Does TI have a suggested antenna to be used with this kit that we can actually use later in the design of the transponder and still communicate with reader in about 6 feet?
Thanks again!
