Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1010
We now have a 900MHz radio, in a finished-product sort of form factor. It uses the CC1010, which looks like an OK part, though nobody here has much love for the 8051 core. And then of course the CC1010 is moving towards obsolescence, though there is a replacement available. And the additional issue is that we don’t have rights to the source of this product.
The board we have looks strongly like a reference design, and I do see some available from TI, but it’s more of a demonstration board. Is there a complete reference design, probably for the CC1110, that includes source code for a FHSS radio? We might even be willing to buy a design just to get started, though we’ll want to heavily customize the software ourselves.
If there isn’t a strong starting design for the CC1110, we’ll probably abandon the platform and look into doing something with our new favorite ST processor. Or if you know of any other reference designs (with source!), we could look into that route as well.
