Hi,
We have purchased the CC2538DK (2 x SmartRF06EB + 2 x CC2538EM + CC2531 USB dongle). On most of our PCs (W7 Pro 64), the SmartRF06EB + CC2538EM work fine once connected through USB (XDS100v3). However, for one of our PCs, Windows fails to install the driver, saying that it can't find any.
The device is properly recognized by Windows (USB vendor and product IDs, and name), but Windows refuses to use the drivers installed from TI's applications. All TI applications have been uninstalled from this PC, then the latest versions of the following TI applications have been installed before connecting the device: CCS, CCS UniFlash, SmartRF Programmer, SmartRF Packet Sniffer and SmarRT Studio.
All the troubleshooting guides from your Wiki and your documentation fail.
If using a VMware guest operating system (tested with Ubuntu and XP) on this machine (W7 host), then the device is installed properly on the guest operating system, so this is not a hardware issue. However, there are other issues with these tools running in these virtual machines that prevent it to be a valid workaround.
I have noticed that when connected to the host W7 on this PC, the POWER LED on the SmartRF06EB is not turned on, as if W7 were maintaining the USB device unconfigured or suspended, which then prevents the install procedure from succeeding.
