Dates visualization in PC from CC1110

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PACKET-SNIFFER

Hello,

I want to ask, which way is possible to connect 04EB+CC1110 to PC for scan measured dates.

I have a CC1111dongle, i know that i can use it like packet sniffer, but is able to sent measured date to PC?

Which SW is good to use for visualization, is LabView OK? or the TI have own SW for visualization?

Thank for advices.

  • Have you looked at the Packet Sniffer SW, this will visualize the content of the packet for you. See http://www.ti.com/tool/packet-sniffer You can also use SmartRF studio, here you can use one of the standard set-ups, or read and write the FIFOs manually by using the RF Device Commands tab? Not sure I understand your first question, you connect the 04EB to the PC with a USB, but I guess that was not what you meant?

  • Hello CHS,

Thanks for your respond Unfortunately its not what I'm looking for.

I looking for SW which can show me waveform of signal from RX device. For example if I send from TX "some" signal to RX i want to see if the signal is sinusoid or rectangular and etc.

And the issue about connection SmartRF04EB to PC. The main connection through USB is for lunch code (or program) to chip. I'm looking for way, how to get information (the signal) from I/O pins. Or is another way how to get received informations?

Hope I explain the situation enough :)

    Thanks for your time

  • Unfortunately we do not have the SW you are requesting, neither do I understand what you will use it for. For studing a TX signal, you normally use a spectrum analyzer, for a simple proof-of-concept spectrum analyzer SW, see http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/155/t/17252.aspx. What modulation will you use? What do you mean with studing the RX signal? Within the different stages of the demodulator? What do you need this information for? Why do you want to rout information from the I/0 pins to the computer, we normally use a logic analyzer if we want to check our SW to see if it works as expected.

  • Well, maybe I described my problem too difficult.

I want to measure ECG wireless and I want to visualize the signal from RX ( want to visualize ECG in PC ).

    Is it possible ?

  • What you typically have to do is having a ADC converting the signal from the ECG sensor to a digital signal. Depending on your need you can look into using the ADC on CC1110 for this. The radio sends packets consisting of n bytes. You have to take the data from the ADC and put them into packets. Basically you have to make a wrapper in software which has ADC data as an input and radio packets as an output

  • Hi TER,

these steps I  have already  done.

Now I have challenge which SW use for visualization ECG signal and HOW to connect Evaluation board to PC for visualization.

    Any tip, please?

  • Both Matlab and LabView should be able to do the trick. I assume that both of them has libraries enabling communication over USB but I don't have any details.
