Hi all,

I recently bought TRF7960ATB REVB board. I would like to interface it with CC430F5137 (on wizzikit from wizziLabs) to implement a passive reader.

I am powering up it with wizziKit's on board power supply which is 3.3VDC supplied from Jtag connected to wizzikit.

I am providing this 3.3VDC to TRF7960ATB connector P2 -> 7th pin. GND to GND pin.

But power booster TPS61222DCKT resides on the board is unable to generate 5VDC output. when I check at the 5VDC test point, I am getting 2.7V and at VDD_X i would get nothing (0V).

where I am going wrong?? can anyone let me know what could be the reason??

Hi All,

Anyone there to help me regarding this issue?

My TRF7960ATB REVB board is unable to generate 5V after I powering up it with 3.3VDC.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Lakshmi,

We discovered an issue where our board manufacturer was populating the wrong boost converter IC. The board will still function, but the range will be reduced since the supply voltage is lower. If you purchased from the TI e-store, please contact the support center to get this replaced.

Thanks for your response.

I am getting 2.6VDC at the power booster's output. Will it be sufficient to bring up the chip and I/O's of TRF??

Lakshmikanth,

The minimum supply voltage for TRF7970A is 2.7V, so we cannot fully guarantee this will work as it is outside of the specification. I recommend exhanging the board for a corrected one.
