ZRC and ZID profile in BRC and ARC sample application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REMOTI

Iam very confused about what are ZRC or ZID commands. For example in basic remote control application numerical keys, OK, up/down/right/left are ZRC commands, but in advanced remote application control they are ZID commands. In your RemoTI documentation you say  that the PAIR key (RSA_ACT_PAIR, red key) sends RTI command profile, this should not be ZRC command?

  • Hi Jessica,

ZRC and ZID are two different ZigBee RF4CE profiles.  ZID (ZigBee Input Device) is used to allow an HID (Human Interface Device) class device  to communicate with a host. Typical HID devices include keyboards, mouse and other pointing devices. The Advanced Remote Application uses the ZID profile, that is why you see the ZID commands. On a transmission level it's just a matter of different encapsulation of data used in ZID.
