Spectrum Analyzer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2510

Hi all,

This forum has been so helpful im deciding to ask another question.

I am building a spectrum analyzer, and I cannot figure out how to determine the RSSI of a channel on the rf2500 and then change the channel. Is this possible without actually linking to a device?

Thank you so much!

  • Hi Bilbo,

What you want to do is definitely possible without linking to a device. You might want to look at this post:

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/157/p/17252/66791.aspx#66791

This is a complete spectrum analyzer project that a guy built using the CC2510 and includes code for the PC to display it. All the source code is available there.

To determine the RSSI you just need to set the channel, put the radio into the RX state, and then read the RSSI register directly. The radio does not need to be linked to another device.

    Good luck,

    Russ
