CC2530

I got the below question:

We are using ZigBee module that have TI CC2530 chipset and there is an issue with the RSSI measurements…

On the attached picture you can see the RSSI measurements done by  SmartRF Studio software, the RSSI indication is around 70dB lower than what we expecting (verified by spectrum)

The setup includes two modules, one transmitting (CW and packets) and one for RSSI measurements (connected directly be cable)

Is this indication on the software reliable? Is there a way to read the RSSI register by the SmartRF software?

  • Eli,

You wrote that you are using a module with a CC2530 chipset inside. From the image I see that you have enabled the CC2590, the CC2590 can be hooked up to various different pins and the SmartRF studio tool only enabled the connection schematic that we use on our reference designs. I advice you to get the schematics of the module you are using or confirm with your module vendor that they followed our reference design.

The software for the CC2530 is very mature and you should experience no issues with it.
