Developing a ZigBee module for the EVM430-F6779 Energy Meter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK, CC2530

I would like to get information about the EVM430-F6779 ZigBee communication specs.

We adquired a TI Meter (EVM430-F6779) and I need to use it with a group of third party ZigBee modules that are already installed. My question is: can I use the CC2530 module in order to communicate the EVM430-F6779 with the rest of the Third Party ZigBee modules? would there be issues regarding the TI Z-Stack protocol compatibility with others ZigBee protocols?

If the answer is No: can I make an adaptor/module in order to plug it to the EVM430-F6779 without using the TI's Z-Stack? what would I need and what would be the specs/steps needed to accomplish that?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards.

  • If other Zigbee module use standard Zigbee profile, e.g. smart energy profile or home automation profile, it is no problem to use CC2530 with Z-Stack to communicate with it. If those modules don't use standard profile, you need to ask them to provide details but CC2530 should still can work with them.
