Can I use the Zigbee stack on sub Ghz chips like the CC1101 with an ARM MCU? Or maybe the CC430 or CC1200?

I like the capabilities of Zigbee but I would like to take advantage of the longer range of sub GHz. I want to have about 300 nodes sending temperature data every 5 minutes or so to a central gateway. Very low data rates and speed is not an issue. I mostly care about reliability.

I know that Zigbee operates on the 900 Mhz spectrum but I'm having difficulty finding any resources regarding it's implementation.

We do not have any offerings of sub-1 GHz ZigBee.

We see a much higher interest in IEEE 802.15.4g and 6LowPAN (www.ti.com/.../overview.page) so maybe you should consider one of them as an alternative to ZigBee?

There is no subG Hz implementation of Zigbee in TI solution. As I know, Atmel has this solution but I never try it.

Second Sverre, I suggest to look at 6LoWPAN and sub-1GHz, take a look at this Open Source Os and IPv6 stack; www.contiki-os.org

There are new platforms coming soon, supporting sub-1GHz with CC2538 and CC1200/CC1120/CC1101.
