Hi,

I am using a CC1120 setup in Synchronous serial mode to transmit data. We notice that the data clock that we output on GPIO2 is not available until about 7msec after issuing a STX command.

Can someone please help us to explain why the clock for TX data is not available sooner as we would need to buffer about 7msec of data before transmission can start.

Note that preamble and sync will be sent before the clocking starts.

Hi TER,

Thank you that explains it, we do not have preamble but 16bits sync is used on the RX side as we are interfacing with Legacy analog units. This sync is probably also used on the TX side I suppose, accounting for the 6.8msec delay before the clock is available.

Is it possible to have sync only on Rx and not on the TX path?

Yes, you just have to include the preamble/ sync in the payload on the Tx side.
