Hi,

Iis there any way to program the above mentioned IC's without using the SmartRF05EB? I have read the Flash Programmer User's Guide and it seems to me as though the SmartRF05EB board is necessary, and programming of the devices is not supported any other way (except over the air, which will still require a bootloader to be programmed first). Is this correct?

There is a programmer that will work for these chips. Here is the link http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/cc-debugger.html. It is designed for programming and debugging all the RF SOC chips. They are only $49 rather than the $650 dev kits. This should do what you need to do.

I've custom CC2530 board and its communicating with CC-Debugger. I'm able to connect and debug through IAR and I can communicate with SmartRF Studio.

But I'm not able to flash it using SmartRF Flash since it need SmartRF Board.

How can i flash and flash lock CC2530 with CC-Debugger?

Is there a method to do it using IAR or SmartRF Flash. I cannot pass the source files to the production team for flashing, I'll pass them only the hex file. How can they flash it?

Hi Limnesh,

You can absolutely use the CCDebugger with the SmartRF Flash Programmer.The only difference from SmartRF Studio is that the CCDebugger won't show in the Flash Programmer before it is connected to the chip (green LED).

Hi Fredrik,

I've tried with CCDebugger connected to the Chip. Its green light is also lit. But SmartRF Flash is not showing it.

But SmartRF Studio and IAR is detecting it.

Hi,

What version of the driver is your CC debugger using? (In the Device Manager, go to the CC debugger under "Cebal controlled devices". Right click and select "Properties". The driver version is found under the "Driver" tab.). The Cebal driver installation guide found at http://www.ti.com/lit/swra366 may be useful.

Also, make sure you update the SmartRF Flash Programmer to the latest version.
