I have been trying to determine how to set the carrier sense threshold level. I am opperating at 433 MHz and a data rate of 375 kbps. I would like the threshold to be at an input that gives an RSSI of 0xE2 ( assuming RSSI_Offset [dB] is 74 this is -89dBm). The data sheet is not clear on how to set AGCCTRL1 and AGCCTRL2. Using SmartRF Studio I think i neet to set AGCCTRL2 to 0xC7. I am not sure how this was determined.
The table on page 85 of the data sheet indicates the values foe MAGN_TARGET have units of dB.What is the reference? This is suppose to be the target value for the amplitued in the channel filter.The possible values are range from 24 to 42 correct since 42dB. In an post from Nov. 27, 2012 "Carrier sense threshold setting for CC1101" Martin B gives these values as dBm not dB. This can not be dBm is nearly 16 Watts. How is the amplitude in the channel filter related to the input power? What should I us for AGCCTRL1 and AGCCTRL2 to get the threshold to be -89dBm?
